Dear Mr President

I write to bring to your attention the urgent case of at least 26 students and left-wing activist abducted by the agents of the Information Ministry and other security forces in Tehran. Anousheh Azadfar, Mehdi Gerayloo, Alnaz Jamshidi, Ehsan Azadfar, Nader Ahsani, Saeed Habibi, Behrooz Karimizadeh, Keyvan Amiri Elyas, Hossein Babaii, Karim Asayesh, Roozbeh Faghihi, Babak Pashajavid, Mohsen Ghamin, Babak Pasha Javid and Mahsa Mohebi are currently being held in custody and interrogated for merely trying to organise, or taking part in, an independent Students’ Day commemoration event.

I hope that you can bring the authority of your office to put pressure on the relevant officials and bodies at Evin prison so that these activists, and all other students, are set free.

I look forward to hearing about your positive intervention in this regard in the international media.

Yours sincerely
